Raising Up An Alliance of Discerning Luminaries: Empowering Communities

6 Stage Process

6 Stage Process

6 Stage Process

Stage 1 — Enrollment & Assessment

Families, schools, or community partners refer youth into the program.
Each participant completes:

  • A baseline emotional wellness assessment

  • A life-skills and decision-making questionnaire

  • A risk and protective factor screening

  • A short goal-setting interview

This helps us understand each student’s needs, strengths, and areas for growth.

Stage 2

6 Stage Process

Stage 2 — Personalized Support & Planning

Using assessment data, ECM creates an individualized support pathway for every participant.
This includes:

  • Recommended lesson sequence

  • Skill focus areas (emotion regulation, coping, self-control, etc.)

  • Family involvement plan

  • Coordination with the school, probation, or Medicaid provider

  • Attendance and engagement goals

Each youth begins the program with a clear, achievable plan.

Stage 3

6 Stage Process

Stage 3

Stage 3 — Weekly Skill-Building Sessions

Participants attend structured weekly sessions covering:

  • Emotional regulation

  • Coping strategies

  • Crime awareness & consequences

  • Conflict resolution

  • Healthy relationships

  • Social skills

  • Responsible decision-making

  • Digital safety

  • Time and life management

Sessions are interactive, trauma-responsive, and culturally relevant.
Depending on the partnership, these may be delivered by:

  • School-based staff

  • RADL team members

  • Licensed Medicaid providers

  • Community partners

Stage 3

Stage 4 — Mentorship, Family Engagement & Real-Life Application

Youth receive ongoing support through:

  • Mentorship and encouragement

  • Family communication activities

  • Community engagement projects

  • Academic check-ins

  • Accountability and goal reviews

Lessons are reinforced through real-life examples, role-play, reflection, and practical application.

Stage 5

Stage 5 — Summer Extension & High-Risk Season Support

Unlike many programs that end at the school year, ECM continues through the summer months to prevent:

  • Boredom and exposure to risky behavior

  • Violence and peer pressure

  • Emotional regression

  • Truancy or juvenile justice involvement

Summer activities include:

  • Wellness and recreation

  • Leadership workshops

  • Behavior and life-skills refreshers

  • Community service projects

  • Academic support

  • Extra check-ins for probation or high-risk youth

This year-round model keeps youth connected, motivated, and supported.

Stage 5

Stage 6 — Progress Tracking & Measurable Outcomes

Throughout the 12 months, ECM measures growth using:

  • Pre/post assessments

  • Monthly progress reports

  • Skill demonstration projects

  • Family feedback

  • Mentor/provider observations

  • Attendance and engagement tracking

At the end of the year, each participant receives a final progress summary showing improvements in:

  • Behavior

  • Emotional regulation

  • Decision-making

  • Self-confidence

  • School engagement

  • Family communication

This stage also prepares students for ongoing success, whether they continue with ECM or transition to new opportunities.
